Pre-Engineering

Midwestern State University (MSU Texas) offers Pre-Engineering as a path towards a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Students apply and are admitted as a Pre-Engineering student. In their second year, students may declare Mechanical Engineering, given they have completed the following prerequisites with a grade of “C” or better: PHYS 1624 Calculus-based Physics I PHYS 2644 Calculus-based Physics II What do Mechanical Engineers do? Mechanical engineers use concepts of mechanics and heat to design and build machines, devices, and systems such as internal combustion and jet engines, thermal fluid systems such as those used in power plants, and highly complex artificial hearts.
